DaPonte String Quartet: "DSQ Bach"
The DaPonte String Quartet opens its 28th season with a special one-time concert program at the Studzinski Recital Hall at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. This all-Bach program will feature six guest artists, including Maine's own Metropolitan Opera award-winning mezzo-soprano Kate Aldrich.
NOTE: Seating for this concert is divided into reserved seating that is in the front of the auditorium - and general admission for anywhere else in the auditorium.
RECEPTION/GALA: There will be a "meet the artists" reception immediately after the concert at The Daniel (10 Water Street, Brunswick), with hors d'oeuvres and wine and wonderful conversation with the performers and your fellow audience members. This requires a separate ticket, in addition to your concert ticket, which you may purchase at the same time.
Program:
Bach: Orchestral Suite No. 1 in C Major BWV 1066 Bach: Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C Minor BWV 1060 Bach: Cantata Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut, BWV 199
Performers: The DaPonte String Quartet plus guest artists: Kate Aldrich, mezzo-soprano Michael Dressler, oboe Ben Fox, oboe Carolyn Fryer, bass Janet Polk, bassoon Daniel Pyle, harpsichord
