Ladiex Night: Girls Trip & Rough Night
Come to the Downtown Independent for our first Ladiex Night:
A film night centered on the films of/for/about and by women/women-identifying and femme/femme identifying folks and the people who love and support them!!!
Expect the unexpected because we're everywhere doing all the things! We're stuntwomen, writers, mothers, hitwomen, librarians, romantic leads...we're BFFs and we're badass.
Girls Trip (Malcolm D. Lee, 2017) is sidesplittingly funny and a Real Deal film. Written by a woman, it is a combination of a roadtrip film, bonding experience and (thankfully) women relishing in taking back the sex comedies of the 80s that were so male-driven.
Rough Night (Lucia Aniello, 2017) is a woman-written-and-directed film about...well, a REALLY BAD BACHELORETTE PARTY. But from the women's POV. It's from the creators of Broad City and pulls no punches, once again seeking to reclaim this "night gone wrong hahahah" from the clutches of Dude Movies.
