Voice and Verse

Soli Deo Glorias Spring Concert, Voice and Verse, takes place at University Presbyterian Church at 7:30 pm with the pre-concert talk at 7 pm. Soli Deo Gloria is directed by Dr. Julie Carter.

This concert highlights the contributions of female composers or poets from the United States, Canada, and Sweden. Ruth Watson Henderson, Elaine Hagenberg, Gwyneth Walker, Jocelyn Hagen, Joan Szymko, and Agneta Sköld have composed exciting music in a variety of styles that SDG brings to life.

Reflections from Yad Vashem by Daniel Hall, is a stunning piece depicting a collection of reflections evoked by the Yad Vashem Childrens memorial in Jerusalem. It features local violist Terry Pauls and percussionist Ethan Foster.

The concert concludes with American spirituals and folksongs. You dont want to miss the fun arrangements of So Many Angels, Hold On, and Let Me Fly!

There will also be a guest ensemble, the BCC Youth Chorale, directed by Tami Spurgeon.
