Helen Hansen and Michael Creber in Concert offered by the East Van Gogos to benefit The Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers Campaign
Jazz vocalist Helen Hansen (helenhansen.com), accompanied by pianist Michael Creber (michaelcreber.com) will help warm a spring afternoon with their lively and varied jazz compositions and interpretations. The East Van Gogos provide a seat in the living room of a lovely home in East Vancouver along with light refreshments and a cozy, friendly atmosphere for this intimate concert. The performance will be limited to 30 audience members.
All proceeds of this event will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign (grandmotherscampaign.org), helping to support Grandmothers (Gogos) in Africa who are raising their grandchildren as a result of the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
As Helen quotes on her site,
Jazz is smooth and cool. Jazz is rage. Jazz flows like water. Jazz never seems to begin or end. Jazz isn't methodical, but jazz isn't messy either. Jazz is a conversation, a give and take. Jazz is the connection and communication between musicians. Jazz is abandon. Nat Wolff
