The Last 5 Years
An intimate window into the hardship of love: we follow a struggling actress and a budding novelist as they meet, fall in love, marry, and divorce over the span of five years. She begins her story from the end of their marriage; he begins his from the first moment they ever met. As the musical unfolds, she moves backward in time ending with their first date while his story moves forward in time ending with them saying goodbye. They meet only once, in the middle, at their wedding.
