Buddy Mondlock/Karen Mal House Concert
Nothing better than ending the summer with an old fashioned picnic in a stunning outdoor setting and enjoying some of the best acoustic music available anywhere as Buddy Mondlock returns to Camp Hitaga bringing with him singer-songwriter Karen Mal for a house concert experience like no other!
BUDDY MONDLOCK (back by popular demand!)
Buddy's music is honest, magical, fun, introspective and at times even dreamlike. He draws you in to the edge of the world where you can run away with the circus, find Roman cats and lost loves and wraps it all with sincerity and a tapestry of rhythm and light. He's recently toured with Art Garfunkel (Simon & Garfunkel) and has performed with many greats -- Peter, Paul & Mary, Janis Ian and Nanci Griffith to name just a few. With several original albums to his name, his original songs have been performed and recorded by a multitude of stars as well.
KAREN MAL (first time at Hitaga House Concerts)
Based in Austin, TX, Karen has created a name for herself as a captivating singer, instrumentalist and songwriter. Ranging from charming to seductive, impressionistic to philosophical, her songs have brought her nationwide acclaim. She's won top awards from the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival in Texas, the Tucson Folk Festival and the Portland Songwriters Association and has also been a three time New Folk Finalist at Kerrville, emerging artist at Falcon Ridge and a finalist at the Sisters Folk Festival.
In 2005 she was invited to tour with Celtic superstars "Cherish the Ladies".
Bring the family, lawn chairs or blankets. Concert/picnic to be held rain or shine! Please bring your own beverages, but keep in mind that hard liquor is not allowed at the camp. Suggested minimum donation is only $8 per person or $25 for a household of four (includes picnic meal, concert and acoustic jam session that follows). Camping available for an additional charge.
