The Blue Sage's inaugural concert of the 2013/14 classical series will feature 'Petit Concert' from celebrated composer Igor Stravinsky's "L'Histoire du Soldat" suite, based on a Russian folk tale by the French writer C.F. Ramuz. Stravinsky's "L'Histoire du Soldat" is a parable about a soldier who trades his fiddle to the devil for a book that predicts the future.
The Trio will also perform "Contrasts" by Bartok, written for Benny Goodman, the "King of Swing", Mozart's sublime "Kegelstadt" Trio and Russian composer Aram Khachaturian's beautiful and folksy Trio for clarinet, violin and piano.
Don't miss the jazzy, American sound of the clarinet, in this unique chamber ensemble setting.
