Rob Scheps Wayne Shorter Project - World Class Jazz
Celebrating the life and music of the great Wayne Shorter, come join us for an entire evening of his original compositions. Wayne is one of the greatest living jazz composers of all time. His resume reads like the history of jazz...starting with his work with Art Blakey and the jazz messengers, then the Miles Davis quintet, Co-founder of Weather Report and along the way, countless recordings with his own groups. Recently featured at the Kennedy Center awards, he continues to be an incredible musical force.
The evening will be led by saxophonist Rob Scheps. Rob is one of the busiest jazz musicians working today. Based out of NYC/Portland, he is constantly touring with a variety of groups, and has played with greats including Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, Buddy Rich, Ray Charles, Mel Torme, Manhattan Transfer, Gil Evans Band.
