Jazz @ The Dance Hall: The Eric Klaxton Quintet
Working as a freelance saxophonist, pianist, and educator, Eric has played with and arranged for a number of ensembles. He is currently an active member of notable ensembles including: The Soggy Po Boys, Sojoy and OurBigBand. In addition to his work with collective ensembles, Eric is often writing and arranging original works for various groups of his own.
While the Eric Klaxton Quintet is primarily an outlet for Klaxton's original compositions, the group's repertoire also includes new arrangements of jazz, pop, and folk tunes. Inspired by the compositions of Ben Allison, Radiohead, and Jim Black- to name a few- Eric's original works explore the connection between the traditional and modern.
