Three acts - different in many ways but all grounded in terrific songwriting play the Lizard tonight. Americana and twisted harmonies c/o Spotted Tiger, rock'n'roll c/o Jake Hill and Deep Creek and gorgeous soulful harmony by identical twin sisters Nalani and Sarina.
Spotted Tiger sometimes acoustic, always eclectic.
Led by the songwriting of violist Laurence Scudder and guitarist Erik White, Spotted Tiger is rounded out by a malleable all-star combination of Boston area players. Together they play an inspiring variety of originals & hand-picked covers.
Deep Creek is Plymouth based singer-songwriter Jake Hill's rock and roll band who he has been playing and creating with for over 5 years all over the Northeast and beyond. They transform Jakes notebook remarks into American music that makes you move. Theyre a group of musicians that could pick up any instrument and make it sing, but they prefer when Kit Carlyle plays the guitar, Dave Robertson plays the bass, and Larry Anzouni plays the drums!
Nalani & Sarina, identical twins sisters from New Jersey, have developed a distinctive blend of traditional soul-rock and modern pop likely to keep their faces in the spotlight for years to come. Nalani & Sarina's smart, kinetic live shows, whether as a duo or with their band, have made the sisters favorites on the Northeastern club scene.
The Deli Magazine wrote of Nalani & Sarina's album The Circle, saying "As young songwriters, their masterful fusion of soul, rock, and mainstream pop combined with their familial ties has given their music a reputation for being both impressive as well as deeply personal." -Rebecca Carroll
