Originally from Mississippi, Teneia grew up singing gospel music at the age of eight, writing songs at age ten, and playing guitar by age eighteen. After years writing and perfecting her craft she moved to Louisville, KY, where she established herself as a musician. She became a staple in the independent community and went on to be a favorite of the local NPR affiliate WFPK, as well as at venues around the area. In 2009 she landed in Phoenix, AZ, where she developed her body of
work and trademark folk/soul sound. She is now a national touring musician who spread a message of love and equality.
