Winter Night
We're in the depths of winter now. Though the days are getting longer, winter nights can be spectacularly beautiful as they can be brilliantly harsh: bracing cold with wind-swept snow, trees covered with pillows of white, all with the twinkling of stars like icy lights in the sharp chilling air. And then the winter dawn comes, the sun its rays reflecting through icicles, off frozen water, and hard snow. Come listen to music written for snowy winter nights, and those luminous dawns. Featuring works by Poulenc, Ouimet, Brahms, Mäntyjärvi and Schafer.
