Oysterfest at Dill's Tavern

Bring the whole family to celebrate our local historical connection to oysters at Dills Tavern on Saturday, April 20th, from noon to 5pm with fresh food, live music, and local craft beverages.

Today, the many buildings of Dills Tavern have come to tell not only the history of Dillsburg, but the story of life on Pennsylvanias frontier and even a slice of our nations history. These insights continue to develop through the taverns archaeological investigations. During these digs, one item has far outnumbered the others: oyster shells. Investigation shows that oysters were exchanged for products made by the taverns distillery. Oysters came back to the property from Baltimore in the barrels that were sent to quench the thirst of the burgeoning shipping metropolis.

NYCHAPS reserves the right to cancel any event due to low enrollment, inclement weather or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If NYCHAPS cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date. In the case of last minute event cancellations, all efforts will be made to inform ticket holders of the cancellation or rescheduling of the event. If you are unable to attend an event for which you have purchased tickets, NYCHAPS should be contacted no later than 48 hours before the start of the event for refund consideration.
