Beyond the Notes

Concord native, Sarah Whitney will return to to present the fifth annual Beyond the Notes at the 51 Walden Performing Arts Center on April 5, 2019 at 7:30pm!

Beyond the Notes is a unique and interactive concert experience that gives the audience a chance to get to know the performers beyond what can be read in their bios. In addition to presenting some of todays most sought after musicians, Beyond the Notes invites audience members to participate in the concert by submitting written questions. Questions are selected randomly and answered live on stage by the performers throughout the concert.

Artistic director and founder, violinist Sarah Whitney, will be joined by PUBLIQuartet! Applauded by The Washington Post as a perfect encapsulation of todays trends in chamber music, and by The New Yorker as independent-minded, PUBLIQuartets creative programming lends a fresh perspective to the Classical music scene.

"I believe that too often there is a barrier between the audience and the performers when the audience knows little about the musicians they are watching." says Whitney. "The mission of BEYOND THE NOTES is to change that dynamic because getting to know the musicians on stage can significantly change the listening experience.
