Gounod's "Faust" at The Centre Theater--Presented in Conjunction with Opera Fresca
Charles Gounods Faust tells well known tale of the lifelong scholar, Faust, who sells his soul to the devil in order to enjoy the pleasures he missed out on in his youth. Given his youth back, Faust falls for the innocent and beautiful Marguerite. Faust's enjoyment of youth's pleasure cannot last for long however, and fate intervenes. A fate governed by the demonic Mephistopheles, to whom Faust sells his soul.
This production, produced at the Centre theater in conjunction with Opera Fresca, will be presented in abridged concert format. Our host, Matthew Durkin, will narrate us through the journey, along with English supertitles presented on screen for the musical sections, sung entirely in the original French. Join us for a devlishly good time!
