The Dylan Hayes Electric Band w/Jay Thomas (M-Status Opener)
The Dylan Hayes Electric Band is an ensemble led by Bay Area natives, Dylan Hayes and Xavier Lecouturier. Dylan and Xavier have a long musical history, collaborating since high school, they have developed a very unique voice and sound different than any other in Seattle. The group primarily focuses on arranging both Dylan and Xaviers original music, as well as some jazz standards for quartet to octet configurations. Dylan and Xavier have been found playing with Seattles best musicians including Thomas Marriott, Jay Thomas, Jovino Santos Neto, and Dawn Clement to name a few. They have both lived in Seattle for four years and have really developed a sound and unique book of music that is fresh, exciting, and pushing jazz music to another level. Their inspirations include Roy Hargrove, Stevie Wonder, Gerald Clayton, George Duke, and Robert Glasper to name a few. The music really draws from a wide range of genres including hip hop, pop, funk, and jazz.
Some of those same musicians will be part of the group at The Seasons: saxophonist, Rex Gregory, a transplant from New Orleans with a long resume, and Yakima favorite, Jay Thomas who has made multiple appearances at the Seasons with his funky trumpet.
