A REASON TO BELIEVE: The Music of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

Family Folk Chorale
Sunday, March 24, 2019, 3-5pm
Arlington Town Hall
730 Mass Ave, Arlington, MA

Life, passion, redemption, and community-- all are invited to sing these themes woven together in harmony at the upcoming Family Folk Chorale concert A Reason to Believe.  The event will be an all-ages rousing sing and concert of the music of Bruce Springsteen, including Glory Days, Born in the USA, Hungry Heart, Streets of Philadelphia, a medley of familiar favorites and many more. Join us Sunday afternoon, March 24, to celebrate the rich and poignant decades-long stream of songs honoring our human yearnings, authenticity and struggles. The afternoon program, curated and arranged by artistic director Chris Eastburn from the 18-album canon of The Poet Laureate of Rock 'n Roll Bruce Springsteen, also includes compelling gems from his later uplifting, humanistic songwriting evolution. Songs such as The Rising, Land of Hope and Dreams and We Take Care of Our Own are some of Springsteen's optimistic, expansive, exuberant creations that call forth visions of healing human connection. These songs makes The Boss one of the most successful songwriters of all time, yet at the same time these songs offer an antidote to commercial culture. Bring your family to sing, clap, and dance along!

Family Folk Chorale is the Boston area's premier intergenerational chorus, led by award-winning Artistic Director Chris Eastburn and backed by some of Boston's most versatile musicians, including Gary Backstrom
on guitars; Jonah Backstrom on drums; Paul Hatem on guitar; and Quinn Eastburn on fiddle and keyboard.

Family Folk Chorale concerts are described by audience members as a musical "experience" or "happening" that hails to a time when live music was part of the daily fabric of home and community. These concerts are perfect for people of all ages - we provide lyrics, opportunities to sing and dance along, refreshments, and a floor seating area up front for young children.

The historic Arlington Town Hall is easily accessible by MBTA bus #77 from Harvard Square, or you'll find plenty of free, on-street and public lot parking on Sundays.  Walk to dinner after the concert at one of Arlington Center's eateries and cafes.
