Bellingham City Club July 24th - Hedrick Smith
Who Stole the American Dream?
For our July 24th program City Club is very pleased to welcome Pulitzer Prize and Emmy award-winning producer/correspondent Hedrick Smith. He will speak to us about the dramatic changes in our nation's economy and the continuing decline of the American middle class since the 1970's as described in his latest book, Who Stole the American Dream? With an investigative journalist's skills honed through his experience as a New York Times correspondent and editor, and his years of creating high-impact PBS documentaries such as "The Wall Street Fix" and "Inside the Terror Network," Mr. Smith will explain the key economic shifts that have consistently moved wealth from the middle class to the rich. He will conclude his presentation by describing a path needed to reclaim our American Dream.
