Shawn Holt and The Teardrops
Shawn Holt is the son of the Legendary Blues Master Magic Slim.
The high energy hard-driving sound of The Teardrops is still alive and well with Holt, a chip off the old block, fronting his dad's band. Shawn's booming vocals is more than a little reminiscent of his dad's, and his guitar playing while similar to Slim's, exhibits a broader mix of classic and contemporary influences. Shawn shows himself more than capable of leading The Teardrops into a new era. The blues torch has been passed to another generation of the blues.
Shawn Holt and The Teardrops are winners for Best New Artist Debut - Daddy Told Me by the Blues Foundation (BMA) 2014, and also won the 2014 Blues Blast Music Award for New Artist Debut Album - Daddy Told Me.
