Foundry Hall presents: Nate Roberts and Hayes Griffin
Guitarist Hayes Griffin and mandolinist Nate Roberts are leading the charge in West Michigans progressive acoustic music scene. With over 30 years of combined experience in the world of folk and traditional music, Hayes and Nate blend influences such as bluegrass, jazz, Irish, and classical to create a truly unique sound.

Nate Roberts is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Westfield, NY. In 2013, Nate earned his MM in Jazz Performance (Guitar) from the University of Oregon, after having completed his BM in Jazz Studies at Hope College in 2011. He also received a scholarship for Mandolin Performance and attended Berklee College of Music from 2007-2009, where he studied with mandolinist John McGann. Nate is currently on faculty in the jazz department at Hope College in Holland, MI, where he also directs the new and growing Folk Music program.

Hayes Griffin was raised in central Ohio and currently resides in Grand Rapids, MI. In 2012, Hayes earned an MM in Contemporary Improvisation from the New England Conservatory under the private instruction of John McGann, having completed his B.A. in Music Performance at Denison University in 2010. Currently, Hayes teaches History of Rock and Roll at Grand Valley State University and runs Built to Last Music Notes, LLC, a transcription and music publishing service.

Hayes and Nate will be releasing their debut album in January of 2019!
