Event
Come and Sing with John Rutter
The warm and generous acoustic of St Mary Magdalene, Wandsworth Common is the venue for an inspirational day of singing under the baton of the UK's most popular carol and choral-music composer, John Rutter.
All music will be provided on the day, and John will lead a force of 200 - 300 singers in movements from his Requiem, as well as popular choral classics such as Faure's Cantique de Jean Racine, Stanford's Beati Quorum Via and other popular music for choirs.
Whether or not you have significant choral experience, John will lead an inspirational day of music discovery, with adults and children (from 11 years on) all welcome. The charming parade of Wandsworth Common's Bellevue Road, with its many eateries and coffee shops, is just 60 seconds away for a lunchtime break, while homemade traybakes and cupcakes will be provided at no cost during the afternoon tea-break.
Wandsworth Common Station - 5 mins walk from the church - enjoys excellent transport links, being a single stop from Clapham Junction by train, and only 3 stops from Victoria. Tooting Bec on London Underground's Northern Line is 10 mins walk away, with the 219, the 319 and the G1 bus all stopping yards from the church
