STRANGE CULTURE w/MAP OF THE UNDERGROUND, Fri. at Revolve08
Tilda Swinton and Thomas Jay Ryan star in this dramatic re-enactment of a very stupid investigation. Within hours the artist was detained as a bioterrorist as dozens of federal agents in Hazmat suits sifted through his work and impounded his computers, manuscripts, books, his cat, and even his wifes body. Kurtz suddenly found himself awaiting trial with his long-time collaborator, Dr. Robert Ferrell, Professor of Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.
Preceded by MAP OF THE UNDERGROUND an award winning four- minute short film that fuses Poetry, Music and Animation. Set to music, the film takes it name from a poem, written and performed by the Welsh Bard Ifor ap Glyn and is an amalgam of reflective memories of the poets life and upbringing in London.
