Spatial Poetics XII: Release Me
Spatial Poetics XII is an evening of experimental and collaborative performances by an eclectic line-up of Asian Canadian artists. In its 12th year, this interdisciplinary event celebrates collaboration and innovation in the use of text, visuals, music, and performance. The performances are always evocative and memorable, and sometimes haunting. This year's edition Release Me features new works by artist-collaborators Lisa Gelley (dancer/choreographer) with Gabriel Saloman (musician/artist), Joseph Hirabayashi (musician) with Gillian Cole (visual artist), and Howie Tsui (visual artist) with Sammy Chien (mixed media artist).
Presented in partnership with SFU's Vancity Office of Community Engagement. Special thanks to The Leon and Thea Koerner Foundation for its financial support, and to Canadian Heritage, Canada Council for the Arts, BC Arts Council, BC Gaming and the City of Vancouver Cultural Services.
