Erich J. Lidl is a partner in the firm of Liedle, Lounsbery, Larson & Lidl, LLP and an AV-rated "Pre-Eminent" attorney by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. Erich practices complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts in the areas of professional liability, government tort liability, civil rights, surety, products liability, construction, business and major torts. Erich's trial and arbitration experience focuses on the representation of licensed professionals, sureties, product manufacturers, developers, contractors and subcontractors. Erich has successfully defended cases involving major landslides, building failures, wrongful death, and catastrophic personal injury. He has successfully prosecuted breach of contract and fee actions for business, construction and consultant clients. Erich's practice also includes business transactions and counseling, with an emphasis on representing licensed professionals, commercial construction companies, and manufacturers. He also counsels clients on corporate governance and risk management issues. Erich has served on the board of directors of several companies. He served as in-house senior counsel for a national utility billing company, as well as outside general counsel for several companies. Erich is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California and all California state courts. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, the DRI, and The Surety Association of San Diego. Erich has also practiced in the United States Court of Federal Claims. Erich served as an arbitrator and Judge Pro Tempore for the San Diego County Superior Court. He is also a fee arbitrator for the San Diego County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. Erich obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (B.A., Economics) and his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law (J.D.). While in law school, Erich interned with the United Sates Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas.
