"The Precipice... was a rousing success and probably gets my vote for my single favorite live-music experience locally this year. It was that good... The guess here is that the Precipice 2.0 will be a major highlight of 2013." ~ Dan Bolles, Seven Days VT

A Precipice is defined as "at the forefront or the edge"- Burlington's second annual The Precipice: A Three Day Happening is just that.
For it's sophomore year, "The Precipice" will take place at a new location situated in the beautiful and enormous field behind Burlington College, located at 351 North Avenue, and will feature 70 different musical acts over the course of 3 days and across 4 different stages. In addition to the music, there will be Switchback beer flowing from the taps, many localvore food vendors such as ¡Duino! (Duende), The Hindquarter, Skinny Pancake, Taco Truck Allstars; and more with affordably priced dishes, and a Vermont Artisan Village set up on the festival grounds.
The Precipice is a Vermont music scene festival, with a few out of town favorites thrown into the mix. Topping this year's bill on the local front are Barika, Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band, Heloise & The Savoir Faire, Ryan Power, Rough Francis, Alpenglow, Eames Brothers Band, Michael Chorney & Hollar General, The Lynguistic Civilians, Magic City, Swale, Blue Button, Paper Castles, Maryse Smith and The Dupont Brothers. On the national front we have, up and coming indie powerhouse, Superhuman Happiness (featuring members of Antibalis, TV on The Radio, and Iron & Wine) who will be joining us from Brooklyn for what promises to be a magical set; one of Philadelphia's most talented songwriter's Birdie Busch will play an early, full band, set on Friday; and Radio Bean favorites Rusty Belle & Bella's Bartok will both make the trek up from Amherst to entertain you.
A little on-site, multi-media, chill-out village is also being planned. It will be a living art piece curated by some of the best local Burlington artists. This petite get-away will be mentally and socially stimulating.
Family-friendly activities in 'weeStock" will be happening from Noon-3:30 pm on Saturday, including music by "Mr. Chris" (Chris Dorman), Eric George & Suzanne Magee (from St Louis), songtime with Linda Bassick and her musical petting zoo; face painting by Stars and Other Dust; and bubbles and juggling from The Amazing Jamba. Children under 12 are FREE with half-price admission for those adults accompanying them. More info: www.facebook.com/events/498076800273809
Parking is limited, so biking is encouraged. Just a short walk from anywhere on Church Street!
