My Favorite Toy Was Dirt, an American Story in Concert
Think Mark Twain meets Spike Jones. Or Peter and the Wolf on steroids where no one, not even the wolf, dies at the end. Check it out at www.mcmansuplays.com
Pat McManus and his indentured actor, Tim Behrens, have created 6 highly successful one-man comedies before that have toured the country, but this show extends their reach into the realm of musical intervention with new, authentic and imaginative music composed by Olivia Brownlee (www.oliviabrownlee.com). The 7 musicians on stage with Tim don't just sit there reading a score. In raucous McManus fashion, they interact and interrupt the narrative, becoming active participants in the humor and the stories themselves. Kind of like a cross between the Marx Bros and a Greek Chorus. Four Prevue shows are scheduled, two in Sandpoint, ID (February 22nd and 24th) and two in Spokane, WA (February 15 and March 1)
Olivia's music evokes folk, traditional jazz, Texas swing, American classical, cowboy, barn dances and other forms. As always, our aim is to make audiences laugh loud, long and hard. And in this case, throw some glorious, radiant and lively music into the mix.
Tickets will be available at the door.
