Paper Puppet Opera presents Winterreise

Now an annual tradition! Come see one of the darkest pieces of music in the classical canon presented through bleak shadow puppet abstraction: Franz Schubert's Winterreise (Winter Journey). David Hoffman (baritone) and Peter Nelson-King (pianist) join us once again to bring you all 24 songs in this cycle about romantic rejection, winter wandering, and existential angst. All puppets designed and created by Juliana Brandon. Both performances are at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Seattle in their parish hall. This production will be sung in German with English super titles. Rated PG for adult themes.

$25 in advance or $30 at the door.

A strobe light will be used in this performance.

Opera glasses or binoculars recommended as some puppets are somewhat small.

This show was originally scheduled for February 8 and 9, but has been rescheduled due to severe weather. If you already purchased tickets for February they will be honored for the new dates, or you can request a full refund.
