Mari Black World Fiddle Ensemble (Afternoon Fiddle Workshop Only)
Mari Black is a two-time winner of U.S. National Scottish Fiddling Championships and the Canadian Maritime Fiddling Competition. She also took home the blue ribbon at Scotland's Glenfiddich Fiddle Championships and the Canadian Novelty Fiddle Championship. And she did all of this before turning 30 years old.
Mari is an incredibly dynamic and enthusiastic teacher, and this workshop will focus on learning new tunes and include demonstrations of how to play in distinct regional fiddling styles. Following the 60-minute workshop, Mari and her band will lead an open jam giving you the chance to play along with one of America's finest young fiddlers. The workshop is open to all players of bowed string instruments (violin, viola, cello and bowed string bass) regardless of your playing experience.
