David Gross, Robin Greene-Jacobs and friends - A Benefit for Artichoke Music
Welcoming David Gross to Portland, we are hosting him with some favorite Portland musicians as a benefit for Artichoke Music!

David Gross started playing in the Chicago club scene, and toured around the Midwest through the early '70s. He opened shows
for a wide variety of musicians, including Odetta, Dave Van Ronk, John Prine, Tom Waits, the flying Burrito Brothers, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee, John Fahey, and even Supertramp. In the '80s, after a move to the West Coast, David was signed as a songwriter by Chappell music. Most recently, David teamed with legendary Jazz-fusion violinist Jerry Goodman for an acoustic concert in Eugene.

Robin Greene-Jacobs is an authentic, organically-grown indie-folk musician. "She tells stories that reflect relationships of love, loss and adventure. Robin Greene Jacobs is a passionate supporter of her community having raised thousands for local charities through her group Friends for Benefits. She is just as passionate about her song writing, weaving in and around the heart and the human experience. Her listeners are at once drawn into the realm of her design be it a ghost story, tale of betrayal or love lost , she delivers with a sultry soulful vocal and intricate guitar work. Her music crosses many genres but whatever the label, its just darn good music." --- Frank Mercer, The Underground Press

Oregon-based folk-rocker Woody Moran is a singer/songwriter with a truly unique sound. Woody weaves excellent guitar skills with breezy, laid back vocals. His lyrics tell captivating stories and hes got a knack for catchy melodies. Music Connection Magazines glowing review of his latest recording, Sitting In Aztec Chairs commented, Morans a relaxed, genial artist whose music conjures a kinder, gentler, friendlier world, one we can all experience, at least for a short while."

Hailing from the evergreen Pacific Northwest, Michael Henchman's thoughtful, imagery-rich songwriting often draws inspiration from roads less traveled that have beckoned since childhood - living across the U.S., in Europe, and many years in central Alaska - to create a contemporary sound that is at once warm and reminiscent. His music has been described as "progressive folk, mixed with redwoods, diners, grassy plains, a dash of longing, and a little road dust for texture." His experiences instilled a deep fascination with open landscapes and with how the heart becomes entangled by time and distance.

Life long song-writer, listener, chord wrangler, class clown, and Portland music enthusiast, Dale Jones, is a chaser of poetry, wonder, spectacle, and a witless witness of the absurd.
