Jonathan Blakeslee & The Band of Fronds
"Ferris Wheelin" is a nod to the fun, jangly rock he grew up withThe Feelies, Camper Van Beethoven. Neil Young and Wilco also manage to impart their stamp as well, in addition to a melting pot of other influences. "The Fronds" is Jonathan's band of musical friends, which include Marc McElroy and Jim Rioux with Chris Klaxton on trumpet + backing vocals from Guy Capecelatro III, Emma Vachon and Lilit Davtyan.
In addition to writing all the songs, Jonathan sang, played guitar, bass, and percussion + a little organ. Marc McElroy co-produced and mixed, played drums, organ, piano, bass, percussion, added backing vocals. Jim Rioux played drums on roughly half the album, adding jazz, funk and worldly textures to several tunes.
