Crash Course 101 is a 7-week course that teaches women and men (aged 18+) the basics of skating for roller derby.
Hosted by Ottawa Roller Derby, participants will learn basic skating techniques such as stopping, falling safely, crossovers, derby position, and footwork, as well as an introduction to the rules of roller derby.
Date: Sunday, June 2nd - Sunday, July 21st
Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location: Brewer Arena 100 Brewer Way, Ottawa, ON (across from Carleton U)
Please note that all participants must BRING THE FOLLOWING gear:
- quad skates (no inlines/roller blades!)
- helmet (bicycle, skateboard, hockey, etc.)
- knee pads
- elbow pads
- wrist guards
- mouth guard recommended but not mandatory
- running shoes (for warm up)
- water bottle
***A limited number of rental skates are available through Honey Skates for an additional fee. Please contact Kelly at honeyskates@gmail.com to arrange for rental skate payment and pickup.***
