Alex City Arts Presents "The Heart Behind the Music"
Since 2011, "The Heart Behind The Music" has been bringing to the stage some of the world's best singers and songwriters who share the meaning and music behind their hit songs. This show provides an up close, and personal insight into some of the greatest music ever written, and performances by some of the music industry's most talented musicians. It features Teddy Gentry, John Ford Coley, and Lenny LeBlanc. Best known as an original member of the band Alabama, Gentry plays by ear and has written hundreds of songs and co-written many of Alabamas hits. Along with the band, he has been elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and received ACMAs Entertainer of the Year Award. He is the founder and president of Creative Café; and, when not playing music, he enjoys spending time with his family and directing operations at his Bent Tree Farms. Coley is most revered as half of the Grammy nominated duo England Dan and John Ford Coley. He continues with an active roster performing the platinum and gold record hits for audiences around the world. Classically trained on piano and an avid guitarist, John loves the craft and enjoys every audience he encounters. A successful songwriter and singer, LeBlanc was an integral part of the phenomenon that became known as Muscle Shoals Music. His pop-music career evolved with his new-found faith, and he began penning worship songs. His name appears on dozens of beloved songs of the church, including the Dove award-winning Above All and There Is None Like You.
