Monday evening June 10th at the handsome and nurturing ShapeShifter Lab in the beautiful Gowanus section of Brooklyn, NY will see a face-melting double header for fans of improvised music that is as ordered as it is chaotic and as tempered as it is extreme....
BB&C - the trio of Tim Berne (alto saxophone), Jim Black (drums, percussion, computer stuff), and Nels Cline (electric guitar) returns to ShapeShifter for the first set at 8PM. Known for their combination of full-bore intensity as well as for contemplative space-out, BB&C rarely get to coalesce, so don't miss out.
At 9:30PM, the BB&C gentlemen will join forces with Ches Smith (drums, percussion, electronics) and Devin Hoff (bass) a.k.a. Good For Cows (their long-standing simpatico/quixotico duo) as a quintet, hitherto known as FORK. Many of these gentlemen have played together for years in various combinations/capacities, but never has this combo been attempted. What will happen??...
