Getsome Athletics is staying close to home, preparing an epic training experience for all the northwestern roller derby addicts!!  We are excited to teach derby athletes all of the newest most exciting derby skills and strategies!

The Evergreen State Fair Grounds event center has space for four complete tracks. This event will have coaches leading on skates, off skates, strategy and skill classes.  You will come in a skater and leave a better athlete!!



Skater Coaches:

Carmen Getsome:

Carmen Getsome is a 7 year Rat City Allstar member that has been voted by her leaguemates as MVP for the past five years in a row.  A hardworking athlete that has proven her skill and leadership by not only skating for the currently #6 in the world roller derby team but by starting a banked track team.  Carmen believes versatility is an important component to success so while you work with her at camp you will experience drills that resemble other sports and types of workouts that come together to not only improve your derby skills but your athleticism.


Shorty Ounce:
Recongized by her teammates last year as the Rat City Rollergirls Rookie of the year, Shorty Ounce is proof that powerful things come in small packages!

Shorty Ounce has coached all over the world! From Australia to North Carolina, she has taught people how to hold their walls together to help people put their weight in the proper place while blocking to improve their position on the floor as well as how to be an all around awesome blocker!!

Vito Ramon:
Coach of the I5 Rollergirls and the Rat City Home Team Grave Danger.  Has coached both teams for two years and has an incredible understanding of the game...he will teach you drills to expand the depth of your knowledge of the game.

Nehi nightmare:
The smallest player on all of Rat City Rollergirls is also one of the best jammers in the northwest.  Nehi nightmare began skating with RCRG in 2012 and it took all of one week for the league to see how deadly she could be.  Nehi earned rookie of the year in 2012 and dominated the track all 2013.

Laci Knight (aka Lace N' Arsenic):

Laci started skating in 2008 with LA Derby Dolls.  Since then she has been the Co-Captain of LADD's Varsity Brawlers (2011 - 2012), the Head Coach of LADD's Ri-ettes (2012/2013 Season0, Co-Head of LADD's Training Team (2011), Head of LADD's Training Team (2012), coached at the last 3 March Radness's hosted by LADD (2010 - 2012), and trained at Camp Scarlet hosted by Angel City Derby Girls (2013).

As a Skater, Laci skated on LADD's LA Ri-ettes in 2010 and 2012, LADD's Varsity Brawlers from 2009 to 2012, and transferred to Angel City Derby Girls in November 2012 and has been skating with the Hollywood Scarlets since joining ACDG.

Smarty Pants: Rad-tastic skater and coach from Texas!!!


Ref Clinic Coach Sir Osis:

Sir Osis is in his 6th season as an official on the flat track, and holds a WFTDA level 4 certification. Currently, he is the Skating Officials Captain for the  Rat City Rollergirls and. Osis has worked actively across the Western region mentoring and training officials.  In addition to being a Founding Member of ARROW, he has trained officials in Japan, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and across the United States.

Osis it the chairperson of the WFTDA Officiating Committee and has been a member of the committee for three years.  He has officiated the highest echelons of WFTDA play, working with top tier teams from across the nation and has participated in both WFTDA playoff and championship tournaments since 2009.  In 2013, he will serve as Tournament Head referee for the Division 1 Playoffs in Asheville, NC and as a Crew Head Referee for Division 1 Playoffs in Salem, OR.  



A full weekend of new classes and drills will be brought to this clinic and you will find yourself learning new techniques and strategies to catapult you and your team to the next level!



Jr's age 16 and over are welcome but must be able to:
-skate safely
-cross over
-give and take a hit
-stay focused and work hard for the full day
-have a signed consent form from a parent
