The first thing I want you to know about me is that I love what I do.
I graduated magna cum laude from UC San Diego in 1990, having founded Studio 2055 four years earlier. (I had to pay for college somehow!) I discovered early on that I receive tremendous satisfaction when I collaborate with people who understand the pivotal role that design can play in the success of their business.
One of my first clients was Taylor Made Golf, which was quite a coup for an (at the time) unproven designer. Thankfully, their trust in me was well founded. Our relationship lasted 12 years, and during that time, Taylor Made grew from a $22 million company to a $330 million company.
Studio 2055 grew as well. Our success with Taylor Made generated work with many other high-profile clients including 20th Century Fox, Four Seasons Hotels, Stolichnaya Gold Vodka, the Gemological Institute of America, Hot Spring Portable Spas and Reebok, among many others. Directing our talents to the AEC marketplace has gained us a national reputation for helping those industries improve their brands and grow their business.
Being of service is an important value to me. I enjoy giving back to my community, as evidenced by my involvement with Bravo San Diego where we raised over $350,000 for the arts. I've feel a responsibility to mentor young designers; the Studio regularly employs interns who have the opportunity to learn by doing. As a board member for Palomar College's media department, I keep the college informed on latest technologies and industry best practices.
