Romantic Moments with Trio Paradies
Soar to the emotional heights with Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Chopin interpreted by Cecilia Archuleta, violin; Page Smith, violoncello, and Tamara Friedman, debuting her magnificent new 1830s "Grafendorfer" grand piano.
A new listening experience! Fortepianos the precursors of modern pianos, and oh so different! allow you to experience music the way the original audiences did. Each of our composers on this concert was a virtuoso pianist who dearly loved these pianos.
With it is full, clear sound that conveys a different tonal color in each register, our "Grafendorfer" modeled on original Viennese instruments of the 1830s by masterbuilders Conrad Graf and Ignaz Bösendorfer when united with the warm sound of gut-strung violin and cello, renders the chamber music of the early Romantics in a truly immediate and intimate manner. And it's also a treat to see, with its elegant lines and "flame" mahogany case.
