In conjunction with NYC's first annual Sustainable Seafood Week, we are hosting a screening of the award winning documentary "SHELLSHOCKED". There will be introduction and Q&A with special guest Meredith Comi who is featured in the documentary and runs the NY/NJ Baykeepers Oyster Restoration Program and Director Emily Driscoll.
This award winning documentary by director Emily Driscoll highlights the efforts of scientists, government officials, artists and environmentalists fighting to bring oysters back to the former oyster capital of the world -- New York Harbor.
The importance of this community lead effort is to prevent the extinction of wild oyster reefs, which keep our oceans healthy by filtering water and engineering ecosystems.
Shellshocked was the winner of the Golden Eagle award at CINE and named the Best Short Feature at Princeton Environmental Film Festival.
