SOA Flute Orchestra's "Spooky Flutes" Concert
The Song of the Angels Flute Orchestra is proud to present a Halloween concert in Southern California for your listening pleasure! This concert features flutes of all sizes (including a collection of very rare large low flutes - the Roland Tso "Posse") plus beautiful harp and thrilling tenor voice of Egan C. Carroll.
Hightlights of this concert include Charles Fernandez' premiere arrangement of Franz Doppler's "Valse Di Bravura", artfully performed by flutists Michelle Van Kempen and David Miller. Opera Puccini lovers will be delighted to hear Egan Carroll's performance of "Che-gelida-manina" from "La Boheme" and "Nessun Dorman" from "Turadot", with harp accompaniment, both arranged by Charles Fernandez. Of course, we would be remiss if not incorporating "spooky" repertoire with a new composition by Ruben Flores "La Bruja Llorona"(The Weeping Witch) and Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld (Overture)" arranged by Shaul Ben-Meir. Dag Wiren's Opus 11 "Serenade" masterfully arranged by Ben-Meir is also included in this program.
We invite all area flutists to join us on the closing number of Leonard Bernstein's "I Feel Pretty"! Please join us for this uplifting spirited concert!
