THE HEAVY PETS:

The Heavy Pets (THP) are an American band that blends rhythm & blues, jazz-funk, nu-disco and reggae- fusion with rock & roll. Called "a living, breathing force of nature" by Relix, the Pets are known for their soulful song-craft and powerhouse live performances of their infectious dance songs.

The group became an instant Sirius radio sensation with the release of their double-disc debut album, Whale (2007), driven by hit tracks "Operation of Flight" and "Sleep." First embraced by the jam scene for their raw talent, the cross-over sound that is showcased on their self-titled album (2010), which was dubbed a "Top 10 Album of 2010" by The Huffington Post, propelled them into the periphery of mainstream music. Returning to their acoustic roots for their third studio release, Swim Out Past the Sun (2011), THP's guitar duo set aside their electric axes for a more organic approach. Featuring a three song sit-in by longtime Jerry Garcia collaborator David Grisman, the album presents a fresh perspective from the ever-evolving quintet. THP and SOPTS were produced and recorded by multi-platinum, Grammy and Oscar Award-winner Scott Mathews and mastered by Grammy Award-winner Vlado Meller.

Following the intensive recording sessions of their previous two releases, the Pets were eager to produce a raw product more true to their notorious live sound while adapting to the current recorded music market. That desire is where the Everywhere Sessions was born. Everywhere Sessions: Volume 1 EP was recorded in the AURA Music Events Studio in two takes with zero overdubbing or editing and features three previously unreleased tracks from three different song-writers and three different eras.
The next Everywhere Session release is slated for Spring 2013. These recordings are available for FREE download at www.TheHeavyPets.bandcamp.com.

Major festival darlings, THP have taken the stage at Jam Cruise, Bonnaroo, High Sierra, Gathering of the Vibes, moe.down, Langerado, Summercamp, All Good, Wakarusa, Bear Creek, Mountain Jam, AURA and their namesake PetZoo among countless others.

THE FRITZ:

Infectious grooves, intoxicating guitar lines and a relentless drive of soul and passion describes one of the Southeast's newest sensations, The Fritz. Drawing inspiration from a variety of techniques and traditions, the group's vision is rooted within improvised Electronic Funk Rock. As schooled musicians, The Fritz rely on creating a canvas that is as much defined as it is colorfulleaving the audience entranced within their art.

Jamie Hendrickson's versatile guitar style and innate sense of melody first blended with Jake O'Connor's funky bass lines in 2007. From there, they met drummer Michael Tillis, who brings a strong driving energy to the ensemble. Jamar Woods' virtuosic keyboard solos and soulful vocal abilities propel the band into exciting musical journeys that are accented by his powerful stage presence. Rounding out the group is percussionist Mike Evans. His taste for world music, power funk and the occasional rap on the mic give the band a truly one-of-a-kind sound that is unmatched.

After their move to the North Carolina in 2011, the band has grown into a full time touring juggernaut that thrives in the live setting. Combining the art of improvisation with the soul of Funk, The Fritz set stages on fire with their incredible, passion filled, high energy performances.

With one independent release and many hours of studio work under their belts, The Fritz are no strangers to the studio setting. Last February, the band spent time at Crooked Tree Studios recording their second full-length album. The release date for Bootstrap is March 2013, and the band will be touring extensively to support the album.

In just a short time, The Fritz have been featured in RELIX magazine, performed at many popular music festivals (Bear Creek, Blackwater, AURA, Swamptown) and have received many accolades from a multitude of media outlets.
