Coming Back Cinema Presents: The Thing
John Carpenter's The Thing is known for its incredibly bonkers and amazingly detailed monster makeup effects and rightfully so. Unfortunately this tends to overshadow the tense and masterful sense of paranoia Carpenter creates, something the film is equally good at. Released in 1982, Kurt Russell stars as the leader of an arctic expedition that goes terribly wrong when a creature with the ability to take the form of anything it touches shows up and begins taking over his crew. Friendships will be tested, trust will be lost and dismembered heads will grow spider legs. The Thing is one of the great horror films and whether you've seen it or not, this film is a must see on the big screen!
