Bios

GOVINDA

-Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin based producer/composer Shane Madden. He began studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study classical violin at the University of Texas where he fell in love with electronic music production. It was in Madden's pursuit of his gypsy roots that he opened his ears to music from around the world. From experiences learning violin with mysterious masters on his journeys across the globe and his passion for modern design and technology, the current sound of Govinda was born.

Govinda has played with Thievery Corporation, Tipper, Bassnectar, Shpongle, Cheb I Sabbah, STS9 and many more and been featured on over 25 compilations such as Buddha Bar II, Asian Travels II, and Nirvana Lounge selling a combined 400,000 copies. Govinda has played at numerous festivals throughout North America including Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Sea of Dreams, SXSW and more. Govinda's music has been licensed on shows like "Roswell" WB, "Road Rules" MTV, and "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" Bravo as well as many independent films.

The Govinda live show is truly a multi-sensory experience that features professional dancers, live projections, resonating vocals and a sonical sound-scape. His live experience is full of vibrant energy that plays to its crowd. Govinda performs on Ableton Live accompanied by classical violin. Govinda is currently touring in support of his album "Universal On Switch" which was released independently earlier this year.

NANDA

Nanda Resides part time in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. A striving Producer and dj who is often on the road going to and fro rumbling subwoofers with crystallized sonic frequencies. With over 12 years of continuously making music and playing underground events Nanda a.k.a NIcholas Rider has been at the epicenter of a phenomenon that has grown rapidly on the west coast of America and quickly spead its wings across the globe. This is Bass music for Sub wookies and benevolent beings inspired by the mystery of life. Nanda has had releases on Muti music, Daly city, Chron4, Synchronos recordings and a release on Ooze system due out in April 2013. Over the last 12 years he has traveled far and wide to share the underground sound of west coast bass culture with dedicated enthusiasm and a respectful humble nature.

DURIAN SEX CULT

If you haven't experienced a Durian Sex Cult show yet, then lucky you because you are in for an extraordinary experience! This 4-8 piece, eclectic group of up n' coming neo-tribal musical magicians takes the audience on a heart centered, and entertaining ride through the world of sound healing and sacred sexuality. Galaxies of sound unite through an impressive array of instruments, including but not limited to beatbox, kalimba, sax, jaw harp, African harp, didgeridoo, bass, cello and tribal percussion. The sheer collective talent of this group is enough to warrant attention but add the opportunity to be fed Durian-the unforgettable, and potent aphrodisiac fruit, by gorgeous dancing girls and we have a truly revolutionary, extra-sensory encounter here. So, if you're not into dancing, laughing, or pondering the existence of the durian then you may just be headed to the wrong show!
