CAMMIE KOLBER-Up With People Fundraising Concert
FORT COLLINS, CO- Singer/songwriter Cammie Kolber will perform a concert at Magnolia Music Studio on Friday, May 3 to help fund her upcoming tour with UP WITH PEOPLE, a Global Education Program. Doors will open at 7:00pm and music will begin at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $15 online or at the door. Student tickets $10. Advance tickets are recommended as seating is limited to 50. 'Can't join Cammie in person? Check out the "pay-what-you-wish" option, minimum $1.
Cammie Kolber has been performing in Northern Colorado for over 5 years. She independently recorded her first album, "The End of the Beginning" in 2007. She was the runner-up for Colorado State University's "OriginIdol" competition in 2007, as well as Colorado State University's "CSUIdol" competition in 2008. She also sang the half-time show with the Colorado State University Marching Band at the New Mexico Bowl in 2008. When she is not performing solo, Cammie has been seen in many musical theater and opera productions along the Front Range. Cammie graduated from Monarch High School in 2007 and received her Bachelor of Music Education from Colorado State University in 2011.
Cammie is traveling in July 2013 with Up With People. Up With People is a global education and arts organization whose goal is to bridge cultural barriers and create global understanding through service and music. Every semester, a cast of around 100 participants (ages 18-29) from 15 different countries embarks on a twenty two week international tour .They travel to nearly 20 communities across two or three continents, per semester, spending about one week in each community. Each week they live with a local host family, participate in 8 12 hours of service-learning projects, learn about different cultures through 4 6 hours of educational workshops, and perform in Up with People's two-hour professional musical stage production.For more information on Up With People, visit http://www.upwithpeople.org Cammie became involved with the organization in 2000 when her family began hosting Up With People participants. It has been Cammie's dream to travel with Up With People ever since.
"Seeing so many enthusiastic people from around the world coming together to make a positive impact on the world was one of the most inspiring things I had ever experienced. I saw that music could be used as a vehicle for positive change and support, and I think that that realization was one of the things that pushed me to devote my life to music" Cammie Kolber (Cammie currently teaches general music at Oakwood school, as well as private music lessons)
