Joan Watson-Jones: Lena and Me, a Tribute to Lena Horne
Finishing out the CCA series on Women in Jazz, Joan Watson-Jones and her band will present "Lena and Me", a Tribute to Lena Horne. Joan describes Horne as, "an early influence on my development as a singer, and an inspiration to many women in jazz. During this show, I want to honor her life with stories and music from her long career." The band features Frank Wilkins-Piano, Dave Zox-Bass and Alvin Terry- Drums.
