The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same
Kibbitznest

Bob Dylan sang: "The times they are a-changin."
but did they?

Join us for a night of listening to songs of social significance and examining the language of music from the 1960s to compare it to the current social context. Live music will be performed by Pat McKillen (Vox, Guitar), Ren Patrick (Female Vox) and Nate Warren (Keys), as we will listen to and read lyrics from 50 years ago.

While some music calls for change, what is heard by the audiences?
What do they do in response?

Does music affect change?
What has changed?
What has not?

Pink Floyd sang: "No more turning away. From the weak and the weary."
But have we turned away?

The Beatles sang: "You say you want a revolution. Well, you know, we all want to change the world."
But did we?

Is complacency the common denominator of the recent decades? Where does change come from and could we harness it for the better?
