On the heels of Hallowe'en and the Day of the Dead, the UC Alumni Chorus remembers those who have inspired us with their work. The centerpiece of our "Dia de los Muertos" concert will be Mozart's Requiem, completed by Harvard Professor Emeritus of Music, Robert Levin. He takes 'Remembering' to the nth degree by stepping into and filling the shoes of Mozart like no one has managed before.
In addition, UCAC has commissioned a world premiere by Paul Ayers, a piece based on a 1957 sermon by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The concert will also feature works by Elizabeth Alexander, Calixto Alvarez, Guido Lopez-Gavilan, Albert Ginastera and Rodolfo Halffter.
Soloists for the Mozart are Kate Offer, soprano; Ariel Andrew, mezzo soprano; Seth Arnopole, tenor and Rene Minneboo, bass.
