ECHOES FESTIVAL | Lacock Scholars: CD Launch Concert 'In Memoriam - Commemoration Motets of the Renaissance'
Come and hear the UK's premier amateur consort, The Lacock Scholars, sing a concert launching their second CD, In memoriam: Commemoration Motets of the Renaissance. Conducted by Greg Skidmore, one of the country's leading specialist performers of Renaissance polyphony, the group will present Duarte Lobo's Missa pro defunctis for six voices - a wonderful counterpart to the same composer's eight voice Requiem mass which forms the centrepiece of a day-long workshop lead by Patrick Craig immediately preceding the performance - alongside motets written on the death of various Renaissance polyphonists throughout the period.
The concert will be in the characteristic Lacock Scholars style; seamless and without applause, allowing you to approach the music on your own terms, surrounded by the magnificent architecture of one of west London's hidden gem churches, St Cuthbert's Earl's Court. Their CD recording of the programme will be available for purchase after the concert, when you can chat with Greg and the rest of the singers about the music and the performance.
PLUS Ticket includes a complimentary glass of Spanish wine!
This event is part of Echoes Festival 2018 organised by ILAMS and the Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with Lacock Courses.
