Allison Miller can't stay away from Humboldt: besides repeat trips with Boom Tic Boom, she's come back with Jessica Lurie, Jenny Scheinman, and her own Honey Ear Trio. When she's not on the North Coast, you might find her teaching at the prestigious Stanford Jazz Camp, filling the drum chair on Late Night with Seth Meyers, or gigging at any major jazz festival around the world. NPR put her "Otis was a Polar Bear" among the 200 greatest songs by 21st century women. This drummer is on a roll, but were glad she's made HumCo the terminus of her latest West Coast tour. With Ben Goldberg, reeds; Kirk Knuffke, cornet; Dawn Clement, piano; Jenny Scheinman, violin; and Tony Scherr, bass.
"Singular, smart, cool and with just the right amount of weirdness." --Larry Blumenfeld, Wall Street Journal
