Never Weather, Cowboys and Frenchmen at Art Boutiki
Never Weather is a jazz-inspired quintet led by percussionist and composer, Dillon Vado. Dillons original compositions borrow influences of Free Jazz, Rock and Chamber Music to make exciting arrangements that allow for genuine improvisations each performance. Never Weather has 5 distinct personalities within the band and strives to make music that showcases each voice of the group, while simultaneously exploring complex emotional themes.
The ensemble is smart, cohesive, and credible in a way like The Bad Plus or Mostly Other People Do The Killing, using virtuosic skills and rhythmic power to walk the line between irony and earnestness, with listenability as high a priority as group creativity.
