Concerts at Michele's
Canada's Clarinet King Ross Wooldridge brings his critically acclaimed Tribute to Artie Shaw and his Gramercy 5 to Michele and Luciano's intimate home concert setting for a swinging afternoon of the finest in small group jazz.
Shaw's Gramercy 5 was among the most unusual of the Big Band Era small groups - Artie Shaw, ever the trend setter who did everything his own way put together a group that used the extremely unusual element of a Harpsichord. A sound like no other group of that era was the result.
This show features Brigham Phillips on harpsichord and piano, Steve Crowe on trumpet, Lew Mele on bass, Phil Disera on guitar, Glenn Anderson on drums and special guest Robin Lea on vocals.
