Tory Silver celebrates the release of her new EP tonight at The Lizard. Tory is inspired largely by bossa nova, folk, and rock music, and she uses these influences to create a fresh sound with a distinct punch. Opening the show are The Drunk Monkeys who blend modern rock with psychedelic undertones and Toledo - a fantastic duo featuring tight vocal harmonies and multi instrumentalists.
Tory Silver is a singer/songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio, currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Inspired largely by bossa nova, folk, and rock music, Tory uses these influences to create a fresh sound with a distinct punch. Notably known for her interesting chord progressions and warm voice, Silver uses her music not only as an outlet lyrically, but as an opportunity to create something captivating on the guitar. Studying the guitar for the last decade, Torys music is crafted with detail in mind.
"Tory's music is FRESH," says Will Buchanan of
The Bonbon Plot, "She combines an understated vocal approach and unpretentious, real-life lyrics with seriously unique harmonic language and song structure to create a refreshing sound. Whenever I hear her music I recognize her sound *instantly*.
-Will Buchanan of The Bonbon Plot
"Tory Silver is an exciting and refreshing departure from conventional song-writing with her artful use of dynamics, unique chord progressions, and impressive approach to song-form. She will undoubtedly continue to carve out her space in the musical ecosystem with her captivating live performances and true song-writing talent."

The Drunk Monkeys
Born out of the Boston House show scene, The Drunk Monkeys blend modern rock with psychedelic undertones to bring you a raw and distinct sound. Whether you're drunk with style, spirit, love, or booze, or music you're a Drunk Monkey too. Debut album out now on all platforms.
Here is a relatively endearing story: Ten years ago Daniel and Jordan of Toledo were 12 years old, separately busking in a small port town in north east Massachusetts and rather than compete with one another, they joined forces. Adorable of course but what has resulted from that preteen meeting is a musical chemistry that is clearly forged through day after day, year after year collaboration now expressed in their underground indie folk band Toledo.
There is an underlying DIY esthetic that can be overshadowed by the blatant talent of the band. There is a relate-ablity in the lyrics that doesnt give one the sense that their debut effort is actually a concept album analyzing the origins of mythological characters such as Hesperus, St. Sebastian, and Polyhymnia.
Daniel and Jordans dynamic and impressive vocals, difficult to tell apart from the years of honing their craft together; emote without effort. Toledo delivers satisfying yet surprising melodic and lyrical choices that draw from influences ranging from Radio Head and Real Estate to Nick Drake and Feist. These early 20s multi instrumentalist have proven with their at times dreamy and sometimes raucous debut album that they are ready to ascend from the street to the stage.
